Mind over matter: mental rehearsal boosts stroke rehab?

NCT ID NCT07565363

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding a mental practice technique called motor imagery to standard physical therapy can improve arm and hand function in people who have had a stroke. Participants will be divided into three groups: one receiving only standard therapy, and two receiving additional mental practice sessions either 3 or 5 days per week. The goal is to see if imagining movements without actually moving can help the brain recover and improve daily activities.
