Mind over matter: mental exercises may soothe pregnancy back pain

NCT ID NCT07516743

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a single session of motor imagery exercises—mentally practicing movements without actually moving—can reduce pain and improve the ability to imagine movements in pregnant women with lower back or pelvic pain. Researchers will measure pain levels and motor imagery skills before and after the session. The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to ease discomfort during pregnancy.
