Can a chat speed up recovery from back surgery?
NCT ID NCT07169955
Summary
This study tested whether motivational interviewing—a series of supportive conversations—could help people recover after surgery for a slipped disc in their lower back. Researchers worked with 72 patients who had just had this surgery. They wanted to see if these conversations could teach patients safer ways to move, reduce their pain-related limitations, and improve their overall quality of life.
