First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at how a mother’s age, whether she works, and if she has other children affect her baby’s mental and social growth. Researchers watched 2,355 mothers and their babies at 5 months, then checked the children’s development at 20 months and again at 4 years old. The goal was to understand how everyday interactions between mom and child shape learning and social skills over time.
