First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested a special mosquito repellent device, called Mosquito Shield, to see if it can prevent infections from dengue and other mosquito-borne viruses in children aged 4 to 16. Nearly 7,000 children in Sri Lanka took part, with some homes getting the active device and others a placebo. The goal was to see if the device reduces the number of new infections over two years.
