Neck injection could shield heart from Attack's aftermath

NCT ID NCT06947135

Summary

This study is testing if a single morphine injection near a nerve cluster in the neck can help reduce additional damage to the heart muscle after a severe heart attack. Researchers want to see if this nerve block, given during emergency stent surgery, limits the size of the heart scar and prevents further complications. They will compare the morphine injection to a placebo saline injection in 166 patients.
