Aggressive sinus surgery may offer better relief for stubborn nasal polyps
NCT ID NCT04852562
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a more radical sinus surgery (removing more diseased tissue) works better than standard surgery for people with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps that involve high levels of eosinophils (a type of white blood cell). 110 Chinese adults were followed for a year to see if the extensive surgery improved quality of life, reduced the need for repeat surgery, and delayed polyp recurrence. The goal is to find a more effective surgical approach for this hard-to-treat condition.
