Bacteria engineered to starve tumors enters human trials

Summary
This study tests a modified Salmonella bacteria (SGN1) designed to grow inside tumors and cut off their food supply. About 70 adults with advanced solid tumors that have not responded to standard therapy will receive the treatment. The main goals are to check safety and see if the bacteria can shrink or control the cancer.
