Bacteria vs. cancer: modified salmonella injected into tumors to starve them
NCT ID NCT05103345
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a modified salmonella bacteria (SGN1) injected directly into tumors in people with advanced solid cancers that haven't responded to standard treatments. The bacteria are designed to grow inside tumors and cut off their food supply (an amino acid called methionine), potentially shrinking or controlling the cancer. The main goals are to check safety, find the best dose, and see if it helps control the disease.
