New jaw plate could mean faster healing for broken jaws
NCT ID NCT07590401
First seen May 22, 2026 ยท Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new type of metal plate (modified 3D rectangular grid plate) to fix broken jaw bones in the front and side areas. Twenty-two adults with recent jaw fractures were treated with either the new plate or a standard miniplate. The researchers measured pain, how wide patients could open their mouths, and how well the bone healed. The goal was to see if the new plate provides better stability and protects a key nerve in the jaw.
