First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This observational study will follow 2,500 people aged 14–55 who are at risk for HIV across multiple countries. Researchers will track how many new HIV and other sexually transmitted infections occur over time. The goal is to gather data that could help design future studies aimed at HIV remission and prevention.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help researchers better understand HIV transmission patterns and identify candidates for future remission trials.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly benefit participants. Results depend on accurate follow-up and may not apply to all populations.
