First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a mobile self-management program that combines positive psychology and behavioral activation to help young adults (ages 19-34) reduce stress. Over 200 participants were randomly assigned to use the app for 4 weeks with guided activities, followed by 4 weeks of self-directed use, or to a wait-list control group. The program included gratitude journaling, mindfulness, and goal setting. Researchers measured stress, depression, anxiety, and resilience at several points to see if the app made a difference.
