Phones fight HIV: free text service aims to protect ugandan youth
NCT ID NCT05130151
Summary
This study aims to see if a free mobile phone service can help prevent HIV and address related health issues like depression and alcohol use among teenagers in Uganda. Researchers will adapt an existing text and call system to include information on HIV prevention pills (PrEP) and mental health screenings. They plan to test the adapted service with 200 adolescents to see if it increases HIV testing and connects teens to support.
