Summary
This study tested a smartphone app designed to help family members of terminally ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) make difficult end-of-life care decisions. The goal was to see if the app could reduce the stress and uncertainty families feel when making these choices. Researchers enrolled 70 family decision-makers to compare those who used the app with those who received standard care.
