Can a smartphone app replace doctor visits for joint surgery prep?

NCT ID NCT07589803

First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026

Summary

This study is a small pilot test to see if using a mobile app to educate patients before joint replacement surgery is practical and helpful. About 40 adults getting a hip or knee replacement will be split into two groups: one using the app and the other getting standard in-person or phone education. The main goal is to check if the app-based approach works well enough to study in a larger trial, not to prove it improves health outcomes.
