Smartphone app may ease fear and pain before kidney stone procedure

Summary
This study tests whether a mobile app that teaches patients about their upcoming kidney stone surgery can lower their anxiety, fear, and pain. About 68 adults will be randomly assigned to either get standard information or use the app. Researchers will measure pain, anxiety, fear, painkiller use, hospital stay length, and complications up to one month after surgery.
