Heart valve showdown: tiny tube vs. major surgery
NCT ID NCT04402931
Summary
This study compared two ways to treat a failing artificial mitral heart valve. 150 patients were randomly assigned to receive either a minimally invasive catheter-based repair or a repeat open-heart surgery. The goal was to see which approach leads to better long-term results, fewer complications, and better quality of life over 10 years.
