First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tested whether a topical solution of minoxidil (the active ingredient in Rogaine) can help restore color to gray hair in adults aged 18 to 65. Over 12 months, 141 participants applied either minoxidil or a placebo twice daily. Researchers measured changes in hair pigmentation using a special color scale. The goal was to see if minoxidil could reduce the appearance of gray hair without causing serious side effects.
