New mini spine surgery may mean less pain and faster recovery for stenosis patients
NCT ID NCT07279051
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a modified mini-open spine surgery works as well as or better than the standard open surgery for people with lumbar spinal stenosis and instability. About 224 adults aged 18 to 80 who have not improved with at least 3 months of conservative care will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries. Researchers will compare pain, disability, blood loss, hospital stay, and recovery over 24 months to see which approach is safer and more effective.
