First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study explores whether combining a one-week mindfulness training with a gentle nerve stimulation technique can help young adults (ages 21-29) who drink heavily reduce their alcohol intake. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either active or inactive nerve stimulation during lab visits. The goal is to see if this approach is acceptable and feasible, and how it affects heart rate and drinking behavior.
