Mindfulness over medication: new study aims to prevent pregnancy hypertension
NCT ID NCT04626245
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether an 8-week mindfulness program delivered by phone can help pregnant women at risk for high blood pressure. Researchers will measure stress, blood pressure, and heart rate in 150 women to see if mindfulness reduces their risk. If successful, this drug-free approach could offer a new way to prevent a dangerous pregnancy complication.
