Summary

This study tests a 6-week mindfulness-based program (MORE) designed to help parents of children aged 2 to 6 reduce their kids' screen time. The program combines mindfulness techniques with a modified parent empowerment approach. Researchers will measure changes in screen time, parenting stress, social support, and child behavior in 60 parent-child pairs in Hong Kong.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Mindfulness-based parent empowerment program (MORE)
What this could lead to
If effective, this program could offer a practical, non-drug way for parents to reduce their children's screen time and lower family stress.
What could go wrong
This is a small early-stage study with only 60 families in Hong Kong, so results may not apply broadly. The program requires active parent participation, which may not suit everyone.
