Can mindfulness curb college binge drinking? new study targets hispanic students
NCT ID NCT07192094
Summary
This study is testing whether an 8-week, in-person mindfulness program is a practical and acceptable way to help Hispanic college students (ages 18-25) reduce heavy drinking episodes. Researchers will enroll 120 students who report recent heavy drinking and randomly assign them to either the mindfulness classes or a comparison group that only completes surveys. The main goal is to see if students find the program helpful and will stick with it, while also checking if it reduces drinking and stress.
