Can meditation break the cycle of prison, alcohol, and crime?
NCT ID NCT03883646
Summary
This study tested whether mindfulness training could help female prison inmates with alcohol problems. Researchers compared a mindfulness course against standard relapse prevention and no treatment. They measured changes in alcohol cravings, drinking after release, and criminal behavior to see if the training helped break the cycle of addiction and re-offending.
