Mind-Reading chips aim to give voice and control to the paralyzed

NCT ID NCT05936619

Summary

This study is testing a new brain implant system called MindEx, designed to help people with severe paralysis control a computer using only their thoughts. Two participants will have four tiny chips implanted in their brains to record activity, with the goal of allowing them to perform tasks like typing, drawing, or playing games on a tablet. The main goals are to see if the system is safe and if it can effectively translate thoughts into computer commands to improve users' independence and quality of life.
