Can one therapy session before surgery calm your brain and speed knee recovery?
NCT ID NCT07423767
Summary
This study is testing if a single, one-hour talk therapy session before ACL reconstruction surgery can help reduce patients' fear of moving and re-injuring their knee. Researchers will compare 44 patients who get this session plus standard care to those who get standard care alone. They will measure changes in fear, movement quality, and brain activity to see if the psychological approach helps physical recovery.
