New filler matches leading brand for cheek volume restoration
NCT ID NCT05386030
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This Phase 3 trial tested whether a new hyaluronic acid filler with lidocaine (Saypha® VOLUME Lidocaine) works as well as an approved filler (Juvéderm® Voluma™ XC) for correcting moderate to severe midface volume loss. 562 adults received injections and were followed for up to 48 weeks. The main goal was to see if the new filler was non-inferior in improving cheek volume at 24 weeks, as rated by a blinded evaluator.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Hyaluronic acid filler with lidocaine (Saypha® VOLUME Lidocaine)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new, equally effective option for restoring midface volume, potentially increasing patient choice.
What could go wrong
This is a non-inferiority trial, meaning it aims to show the new filler works as well as an existing one, not better. Results may not apply to other facial areas or filler types.
