First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring tiny molecules called microRNAs in the blood can help diagnose liver cancer in people with hepatitis C. Researchers tested 84 participants, including healthy people and those with hepatitis C, liver cirrhosis, or liver cancer. They found that a panel of five microRNAs could tell the difference between liver cancer and other liver conditions, potentially offering a more accurate screening tool than the current standard blood test.
