Gum regeneration showdown: microneedling with PRF vs hyaluronic acid
NCT ID NCT07280507
First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This small early-phase trial tested two non-surgical methods to rebuild the small triangle of gum tissue between teeth (called the papilla) that can shrink due to gum disease or other causes. Seven adults with mild gum recession received both treatments in different areas of their mouth to compare results. The goal was to see if microneedling combined with a natural blood concentrate (i-PRF) works better than a standard hyaluronic acid gel injection for restoring gum height and width.
