First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a new 3D ultrasound technique to map the arteries of the heart and brain in 37 people with carotid atherosclerosis who are scheduled for surgery. The goal is to see if this non-invasive method can detect blockages and incomplete blood vessel networks as well as standard CT or MRI scans. If successful, it could provide a safer way to assess artery health before surgery.
