Could cells from a son or brother hold clues to pregnancy loss?

NCT ID NCT05340556

Summary

This small pilot study tested a new genetic method to see if it could detect and identify the source of certain cells in women who have experienced multiple miscarriages. Researchers collected blood from 10 women with recurrent pregnancy loss and cheek swabs from their older brothers and children. The goal was to see if the test could tell if cells in the woman's blood originally came from her son, daughter, or brother, which may help plan future research into the causes of pregnancy loss.
