First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study aimed to create better ways to measure how people perceive rectal microbicide products (gels, creams, and liquids) during anal sex. 18 men and women who had receptive anal intercourse at least twice in the past 6 months tested three different formulations and answered detailed questions about sensations like wetness, messiness, and pleasure. The goal was to develop reliable questionnaires for future research, not to test a treatment or cure.
