Summary

This study tested whether sending SMS reminders to parents helps children get follow-up eye care after school vision screenings. Researchers screened 320 children aged 5-15 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and those with vision problems were randomly assigned to receive either a standard referral form or the form plus automated text reminders. The goal was to see if more children in the text group visited the hospital within 8 weeks. The study aims to find low-cost ways to improve eye health in low-resource settings.
