App and coaching aim to boost healthy habits in appalachia

Summary

This study tests a program that uses a smartphone app, a fitness tracker, health coaching, and small rewards to help adults in rural Kentucky eat more fruits and vegetables, eat less fat, be more active, and spend less time on screens. About 279 people who currently have low fruit/veg intake, high fat intake, low activity, and high screen time are taking part. The goal is to see if this approach can improve their overall health behaviors.
