Summary

This study tested a two-step treatment for people with advanced stomach or esophageal cancer that has a specific genetic change (MGMT deficiency) and has not responded to standard chemotherapy. First, patients received a drug called temozolomide to prime the tumor, followed by the immunotherapy nivolumab. The goal was to see if this combination could shrink tumors or control the disease. The trial enrolled 13 adults and was completed.
