New study tests electric current to deliver vitiligo drug
NCT ID NCT07208890
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests two ways to deliver methotrexate for vitiligo: one uses a mild electric current (iontophoresis) to push the drug into the skin, and the other is a gel applied twice daily. Thirty adults with stable vitiligo will receive one of these treatments for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure how much skin color returns and check for side effects, especially on the liver.
