Common diabetes drug tested as potential Anti-Aging pill
NCT ID NCT07302932
Summary
This study investigated whether the common diabetes drug metformin can affect biological markers of aging in people with prediabetes. Researchers compared 112 North Indian adults with prediabetes, giving half metformin and half a placebo for six months. The main goal was to see if metformin changed markers like telomere length (linked to cellular aging) and the activity of certain 'longevity' genes.
