Could your genes determine if metformin works for you?

NCT ID NCT05680805

Summary

This study aims to understand if a person's genetics can predict how well they respond to the medication metformin for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Researchers will follow 100 women with PCOS for 24 weeks while they take metformin, tracking changes in weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol. The main goal is to see if specific gene variations are linked to better or worse outcomes from the treatment.
