NCT ID NCT03109847

Summary

This small, terminated study tested whether the common diabetes drug metformin could help reduce side effects for people with thyroid cancer undergoing radioactive iodine treatment. The goal was to see if metformin could protect blood cell counts and lessen symptoms like dry mouth, dry eyes, and taste changes. Only 13 people were enrolled before the study was stopped.
