First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether metformin, a common diabetes medicine, can help people recover after a spinal cord injury. The drug may reduce harmful scar tissue that blocks nerve repair. Researchers will give metformin or a placebo to 34 adults with recent spinal injuries and track their neurological recovery and pain levels over time.
