Summary
This study tests whether metformin, a safe diabetes drug, can improve walking ability and reduce leg pain in 200 veterans with peripheral artery disease (PAD). Participants will take metformin or a placebo for several months. The goal is to see if metformin can reduce inflammation and improve blood flow to the legs, offering a new treatment option for this common condition.
