Diabetes drug joins fight against deadly brain tumor
NCT ID NCT04945148
Summary
This study is testing if adding the common diabetes drug metformin to the standard first treatment (radiation and chemotherapy) can better control a specific type of aggressive brain tumor called glioblastoma. It will include about 64 newly diagnosed patients whose tumors have a particular energy-producing signature. The main goal is to see if this combination helps keep the cancer from growing for a longer period.
