Diabetes drug tested as cancer fighter in new trial
NCT ID NCT07098299
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether adding the common diabetes medication metformin to standard cancer treatments is safe for people with advanced solid tumors. Researchers want to find the highest dose of metformin that can be safely combined with chemotherapy or immunotherapy without causing severe side effects. About 60 participants will first take metformin alone, then continue it alongside their regular cancer treatment while doctors monitor their health closely.
