Sock breakthrough: 3D-printed insoles woven into stockings fight foot pain
NCT ID NCT06534073
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026
Summary
This study tests custom-designed socks with built-in 3D-printed cushions to relieve pain from metatarsalgia, a common cause of forefoot pain in women over 55. Researchers will measure pain, quality of life, and activity levels over six months in 180 women, comparing the new socks to standard insoles and removable pads. The goal is to offer an easy, everyday solution that reduces pain without needing frequent adjustments.
