Metaphors may boost antibiotic smarts in chinese parents
NCT ID NCT07352371
First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether using everyday comparisons (like comparing antibiotic resistance to insect resistance to pesticides) helps Chinese parents learn about proper antibiotic use. Over 800 parents were split into two groups: one received metaphor-based health messages, the other received standard messages. Researchers measured changes in knowledge about antibiotic resistance, willingness to pay for antibiotic-free food, and proper disposal of leftover antibiotics.
