Scientists map the Tongue's 'Metallic' zones
NCT ID NCT05227157
Summary
This study aimed to better understand metallic taste by testing where on the tongue people feel it most strongly. Researchers applied a small, safe amount of an iron solution to four specific spots on the tongues of 60 healthy volunteers. Participants then rated the intensity of the metallic sensation at each location to create a map of taste perception.
