First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at how different types of exercise affect metabolism in women going through perimenopause. 28 overweight or obese women in early or late perimenopause took part. Researchers compared high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with traditional aerobic exercise and also tested the effect of eating protein or carbs before exercise. The goal was to understand how exercise can help manage weight and blood sugar changes during this life stage.
