First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at how metabolic problems like obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol affect the course of advanced chronic liver disease. Researchers will follow about 4,300 adults with compensated liver disease for up to 5 years, tracking their health through regular check-ups and imaging. No new treatments are given—participants receive standard care. The goal is to better predict who will develop serious complications like liver failure or cancer, and to improve personalized care.
