Study tests if simpler stitch repair matches mesh for hernias
NCT ID NCT05599750
Summary
This study aims to find out if repairing certain incisional hernias with just strong stitches (suture repair) provides similar quality of life results as using a reinforcing mesh patch. It will follow 154 adults with hernias 2-6cm wide for up to 5 years, comparing pain, recurrence rates, complications, and overall well-being. The goal is to see if the simpler stitch method is a good option for suitable patients.
