First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether placing a mesh in the belly wall during surgery can lower the chance of getting a hernia later. It included 110 adults having planned abdominal surgery who had extra risk factors like older age, obesity, or diabetes. The main goal was to see if the mesh reduced hernias 12 and 24 months after surgery.
